If you keep topping the ball on your drive, try these simple steps:
- Keep your head down when you swing. Don't try to see where the ball goes until you have fully finished your swing.
- Try teeing your ball up a little higher
- Try choking up on the grip a little more. By doing this, your club will swing down farther, connecting better with the ball.
If you keep throwing chunks of dirt in the air, here are some other handy tips:- Choke down on your club a little more
- Put the ball farther forward in your stance. You want to hit it on the up swing, NOT the downswing.
- Step back a little bit. You don't want to be right above the ball.
- Hitting the ball left?
- You are probably swing the club like a baseball bat on your up swing. Swing down and then up. This won't throw your ball off course.
- Open your club face a little. You can't hit a strait ball with a closed face.
- Hitting the ball right?
- Try closing your club face a little bit. Chances are, your club face isn't flat against the ball.
